Quaker Videos is a weekly video project brought to you by the creators of Thee Quaker Podcast and the Daily Quaker Message. We aim to be your source of weekly Quaker inspiration. Join us every Thursday as we explore this extraordinary faith in these extraordinary times.
We are launching an ambitious first season of weekly Quaker video content. From answers to the Internet’s most asked Quaker questions, to documentaries covering Friends who are working to change their world, our aim is to reach every corner of the Quaker community with new videos streaming weekly on your favorite app.

Our Team
Michael Candelori, Filmmaker
Michael Candelori is a New York-based filmmaker and visual journalist who has been capturing visual media for more than two decades. As a cinematographer he has lensed a broad spectrum of feature, series and short-form projects, most recently the mockumentary feature “The Premiere” released by Tribeca Films, and “45 Mill Street” and “Death of a Pledge”, both Emmy Award-winning short documentaries. As a still photographer he has captured breaking news, editorial, and reportage images on five continents, featured by a cross-section of media including The New York Times, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, and Vice.
Michael comes to Thee Quaker with a enthusiasm that originates from his K-12 education at a Friends school in Philadelphia, which instilled Quaker values which have shaped his life and career; as well as ongoing collaboration with Quaker organizations and artists across the Americas.
Ellie Walton, Filmmaker
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Ellie Walton is a documentary filmmaker committed to telling stories of everyday revolutionaries with authenticity, dignity, and playfulness. Since 2006, she has collaborated with communities to create more than 100 award-winning nonfiction films, screened at festivals like Tribeca, DOC NYC, DC/DOX, and the DC Environmental Film Festival, and featured nationally on PBS and Netflix. Ellie is a Fulbright scholar, winner of the DC Mayor’s Arts Award and the Media for a Just Society Award.
Ellie’s love of storytelling draws inspiration from her years coming of age at Baltimore Yearly Meeting Quaker camps, where she first experienced the beauty, power, and freedom of being her full self. That grounding continues to shape her work—using film to honor the light in everyone and to tell stories that celebrate authenticity and shared humanity. She is especially excited to bring this spirit to her work with Thee Quaker Project. When she’s not behind the camera, Ellie can be found exploring muddy trails with her two adventurous sons.
Jon Watts, Founder & Creative Director
Jon Watts is a Quaker media creator and spiritual entrepreneur. As a songwriter, Jon toured the world sharing stories of the Early Friends and his own spiritual journey.
In 2013, Jon’s unique success promoting his music in the early days of Youtube led him to start the QuakerSpeak video project, for which he spent six years traveling, interviewing Friends, and publishing a video every week. By the end of his tenure as director of QuakerSpeak in 2020, the project had over 5 million views.
In 2022, Jon embarked on a new journey: envisioning a future for Friends and online media. The resulting startup organization, Thee Quaker Project aims to bring Quakerism into the internet age.
Jon Watts is a member of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, which holds his ministry under its care.
